Doug and I recently had a four year anniversary. Four years of being in one another's life. Four years of really rad adventures and a few bumps in the road that we conquered like champions. Four years of figuring out exactly what we want and who we want to be. It's been nothing but incredible and I am so lucky, every single morning I wake up next to this man, to know that I am loved, and I can love, so deeply and fully.
I don't think we're necessarily anniversary people. We went hiking and ate subway sandwiches, took a nap on the couch and watched a movie. It was so perfect I couldn't even tell you how it could have been better.
Relationships are tricky, especially when you work with your partner, who happens to also be your best friend and confidant. Doug and I aren't perfect. Not even close. Sometimes we fight, sometimes we drive each other bonkers, sometimes we don't listen or don't communicate, but Goddamn it, these past four years have been the best of my life, and keep getting better. I love the shit out of this man and I am thankful for everything he does for me, every second of every day. And just for fun, here's a photo for every year we've been together.
The first one is from May 2008 on Mt. Lemmon in Tucson, Arizona.
2009 - Silver City, New Mexico
This one is from 2010 in Las Vegas Nevada.
And 2011 at Ocean Beach Dog Beach, San Diego California.
And of course, the very first photo is now. 2012. It's so rad to think about all the years we have to come and how very luck we are to have made this life together. Thanks for letting me gush for a minute.
