I know, I know, I really don't have a single penny to spend on this kind of stuff, but I'm going to be honest. When I'm broke, thrifting makes me happy. At least some of this stuff will be going into the shop so it isn't all me just buying stuff. But, we did do okay this time around and got some pretty good deals.
The matryoushka doll (only a solo) was 50 cents, and the holy water wall mount was $2.
I found this backpack for my friend Sarah who asked me to keep an eye out for one. It's pretty beat up, but I think it has lots of charm. It was only $4. A steal, if you ask me, since most of the leather backpacks I have come across are usually at least $20. Those weird blue clamps were $5 for three of them, and the exact clamps we use for our sunglasses. They usually cost about $8 at home depot. Jackpot!
This little guy is going with my collection of messed up deer creatures. He was only 50 cents. The spirit of 76 flag behind him was $10, and the vintage levis jacket was $5. Both of those are going in the shop.
Lastly, the find of the day were these two mason jars WITH HANDLES! I love drinking coffee out of mason jars and these are perfect! Only $4 for the two, which is kind of steep, but I couldn't pass them up. The alligator head will be going in the shop, along with the lighter and the ship do-dad in the first photo. I got the food colors for me, and the little clothespins. I'm sure I'll find some use for them.
So, we actually only spent something like $35, which isn't even a quarter of what we usually spend at the swap meet. Our shop is so jam packed (and rearranged, it looks amazing, I'll take photos on Tuesday!) that we don't really need to put anything in there, so it was mostly just for us!
What have you found lately?
xo,
Beca

ReplyDeletei'm like you, i don't have extra money to spend, which in itself is upsetting and can put you in a bad mood, but one of the most exciting things for me to do when i'm broke is go thrifting, i guess because i can come away with several things, and i rarely even spend $10, so it's a win-win!
