Exhaustion

Today ended up being something like an 11 hour work day. I had 4 special cake orders, plus had to do everything for the front of the house. I am kind of a zombie right now. AND of course, I didn't bring my camera, so the only documentation this pretty spring flowery cake is from my cell phone. The writing is meh and the fact that it's a sheet cake is also meh, but I made each and every one of those flowers by hand. And not with butter cream frosting or fondant, but with whipping cream frosting.It was so light and airy. I fell in love. And you can't see it, but the sides are a sunset fade from yellow to coral. Ugh, I want to live in this cake.

I got kind of overwhelmed with how much work I had today, and I still have more tomorrow. I guess it's cake season. Who am I kidding, it's always cake season. I love it, though and am so happy I get to do what I love every day.

We're working hard getting orders done for the shop. Round the clock working. We may need to hire elves!! Just kidding, we can handle SO MUCH MORE!! Bring it on, universe! So even though I am ridiculously tired, I am going to clean our living room, pack up some orders, and maybe do the dishes. Did I mention it's almost midnight!
