Tumbleweeds Tiny Houses

How appropriate that our future tiny house will be a Tumbleweed Tiny House! I am totally in love! Doug showed me this video about a really tiny apartment in Hong Kong which is really amazing, which of course led to us surfing all the related videos, and happened upon the incredible Tumbleweed Tiny House Company.
We already live in a really, really tiny space, but it has been a dream of ours to own our own transportable home. Not a motorhome. Not an RV. A home made from recycled materials, and can be transported easily. It has been a dream of Dougs' since before we met to have a home made from a recycled train container and I instantly fell in love with the idea, but I also like the idea of a traditional looking home. I love cottages. I love cabins and southern homes. Here is the two ideas as one.
Oh my gosh!!! Aren't they wonderful! I love the way that space is utilized and how creative you can get with the exterior.
You should also check out this amazing blog. And I know I will be getting this book asap! And here is a little video of the creator of these houses.
Someday we will have our little gypsy house that we can tow with our van and travel the country doing the things we love. I'm pretty luck that my dad is an auto-cad pro and could design it for us, and my man is a genius to make it so that it is completely self sustainable (and safe.) We've been "house" shopping all night! (all images via Tumbleweed Tiny House Company)
I will be back tomorrow with a video tutorial for vlogging, as challenged by Danielle for our Spring into Summer Feature. What are your thought on tiny houses? Have a great night!

  1. love it. I was just discussing with my parents this weekend how nice it would be to be a little more minimalistic and not have to worry about all the 'stuff' that we accumulate! What an exciting adventure!

  2. Oh, my gosh, these are SO CUTE!! While I sometimes dream of being able to live in a tiny house like this, I would still need some sort of second house as "my" space when I need to work on crafty things or computer time. Maybe my boyfriend and I could each have a tiny house and we could share a porch and invite each other over. ;o) You've set the wheels turning! Ha ha!
