The last few days have been crazy crazy busy with both of us working A LOT and having a lot to do around the house to get ready for a house guest this weekend. Today, I have a lot of international orders to ship out before I go into work, and a special cake/cupcake order to finish before this Sunday, so I will probably get started on it today. I woke up in a great mood today. It's Friday and I only have to work today and tomorrow, and then *maybe* I'll have a few days off again.I was a little unnerved last night when it was brought to my attention at work that someone is saying unkind things about me. I have a hard time dealing with shit like that. I'm really sensitive, and try to be nice to everyone, and have made a lot of strides since we moved here to be an easier person to work with. I know in the past I have been awkward in tense situations and especially when I was supposed to be "the boss" I just tried to hard to be everyones friend and it came back to bite me in the ass. It was really because I was under a lot of pressure from my former boss and as much as I loved managing the bakery, it just wasn't where I was supposed to be, therefore, I wasn't the easiest person to work with or work for. Now, I just do my job, I am pleasant, and I whine sometimes about having to work too much, but it's all in fun. I work hard, it's really easy, and I just want to be helpful and enjoy this temporary thing. But, to be told that someone doesn't "like" working with me hurts my feelings and it makes me dread the shifts where I have to pretend that I don't know about it. Ugh, anyways, just needed to get that off my chest before I get started on shipping out all our orders.

How do you deal with "drama" in the workplace??

On the plus side, Doug came in to have dinner with me right when I got done working my second shift last night, and that was fun. He got to meet my co-workers and we ate fish&chips, then went to Target for some much needed shopping. I love that Target is open until 11pm here, so when I get off work early, I can still get over there before they close! It's the little things.

Oh and here is something that makes me REALLY happy. Uh, Kanye...Will Oldham...AND Zach Galifanakis.

  1. aaahhaha! i LOVE those men! great video..

I must say your blog is looking super fantastic lately as well. I'm loving it. Thanks for adding my badge to your reading list. <3

  2. What a cute picture of you!
Work drama sucks! When I hear people saying stuff, I ignore them for a shift or two. They usually ask if something is wrong and then I tell them what is up. I wouldn't worry too much about it hun. I know it isn't always pleasant, but sometimes it is best.

  3. Can't please everyone. Where I work, part of my job is helping people, and a lot of them are older than me... it's silly but that creates a lot of resentment. It was hard to deal with at first because I'm the same, I pretty much always try to be nice to people, but... some people just don't like me. I like to imagine those people going home and eating frozen chicken pot pies alone and watching Dawson's Creek all night in bed.
