Southern Blogger Mixer

WI3J6137
Yesterday was the first Southern Blogger Mixer and it was a perfect cozy gathering of amazing food, a fun activity and lots of blog talk. I was so excited to meet Mary, Hillery, Sunshine, Sally, Beth, Amy, Amanda and of course Danielle was there too! And of course, miss Maggie was a huge part of organizing it, but she had to work so couldn't make it there.

I'll be honest, I was so nervous, as it's been a long time since I organized an event that was anything like this. It all came together though and I think everyone had a great time!

The menu was absolutely breath taking. Chef Peter Barlow of Easy Bistro treated us like royalty. Balsamic local "wine sap" apples, bacon, bleu cheese crostini; cucumber, smoked salmon, avocado, frisée canapé, Roasted red pepper chicken satay, olive creme fraiche, and sea beans. Laura made house made apple soda and a fancy apple cocktail that we'll share next week. There was a cheese plate, olives, cold meats and sliced artisan breads. I couldn't have been happier, or more full!

We made little terrarium bulbs and I forgot how much fun it is to craft with other people! I have seen these little ornaments all over the place and thought it may be fun to make some. A little project!

I'm going to do a separate blog post tomorrow all about the swag. It was a pretty good haul of gifts! I can't wait for another event like this! It really was the highlight of my month! Check out the other girls' blogs for posts! There was lots of photo taking and talk of posting!

  3. Such a great event! I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and those terrarium bulbs were so much fun! And HOORAY my hands don't look like man hands for once (in your photos anyways..) hehe.

I'd love to host one in the future, if Augusta isn't too far of a drive.

Hope to see you again soon! <3
