I have reached full on flu status, and it couldn't have come at a worse time. We are knee deep in production, and we're all sick or injured. Except Chris, he's okay, at least. I stayed up until the sun rose watching Grey's Anatomy and eating cough drop after cough drop and listening to the rain
I have also been obsessively baking. I'm not sure why, I think it just makes me feel better. Kneading, baking, mixing, repeat. Bacon Chocolate chip cookies, salted caramel fudge, pumpkin pie, caramel apple macarons, goats milk biscuits. I'm also planning for this event on Saturday, which I think will be fun even though it seems like it is going to be pretty small. I am excited to meet bloggers and talk about blogging and eat good food.
I have been feeling a little more rejuvenated about blogging lately. I feel less pressure to blog, which makes it easier and more consistent. Isn't that strange? I'm thankful for it, none the less. Doug and I also can't wait for Danielle and Chris to get here tomorrow.
Oh yeah, back to these biscuits. I used this recipe but substituted bacon grease for shortening and goats milk from the can for buttermilk. They're pretty good with apple butter, or as an egg and cheese sandwich.
Another disjointed blog post, but there is low country boil on the stove top and a vat of grits bubbling, and I'm hungry.
love,
Beca
