The Beginning of the End

Being on vacation has been tremendous. I am finally getting excited about getting back to work. I miss the dogs and I am ready to get busy for the rest of the month of may as a few exciting deadlines approach. I have been working on some portraits and updating our shop for a very special day tomorrow, so my vacation hasn't been completely workless.

It has been storming like crazy, and this morning we woke up to the rain and wind against the van, it felt like we were inside an aquarium. I sleep so great in the van, and cant wait until Doug and I can take off across country, maybe this fall, for an adventure. I'm already planning our next vacation! I just wanted to share a little photo of the ocean by where we are staying, and say hello. How has your week been so far?

Waffles

My sweet neighbors invited me over for waffles for dinner to help cure me of my loneliness. But really, it just makes me miss Dougie even more. I can't stop crying, over everything. I know it's silly, because he'll be back in 2 days, but I really miss him. And I had a really stressful, panic inducing day. I haven't had a panic attack in a long time, but today definitely felt like the start of several.
Tonight when I get home from dinner, and before I finish cleaning this mess of a house, I am going to blog a little about budgeting. I'll be back to do that soon.

And seriously, who doesn't love waffles?

Our Day Trip to the City of Angels (Image Heavy)

We kind of-sort of took forever to get on the road this morning, but we finally got going and headed out for a mini-vacation to LA!
Our first stop was the La Brea Tar Pit museum. So much fun, and so many neat bones! We love bones! This guy is a giant sloth!
Cutest scissors ever!
My favorite!!
We went to the Pig N Whistle for lunch. It's right on Hollywood Boulevard. It was delicious and affordable and cozy. The bathroom was scary though because you had to go down three flights of stairs to get to it.
A HUGE anti-war protest as we walked out of lunch. Closed off Hollywood Boulevard.
The best thing I said all day to the girls at the Cupcake place we went to after the craziness settled was "I came to LA to be a tourist, not to have an opinion about stuff!"
Cupcake dessert! Crumb was so good, and plus side, it was right next to the Louis Vuitton store, which we wandered around and swooned.

Funny man!
GPS on my Chocolate Touch and iPod.
A man and his van.
A photo of the super full moon tonight. This is the closest we have been to the moon in 15 years, and the closest we will be for another 20. Too bad it was cloudy, and the moon quickly disappeared into balckness.
We are home sweet home now! It was an awesome day and I had a blast! I can't wait until I get another weekend day off so we can take more wonderful vacation trips!
