Red Velvet Fauxstess Cupcakes

I know, I know, more baking, but getting ready for this little birthday party has been so much fun! I finished the cake and the cupcakes and we're heading over there in a few hours when Doug gets done working.

I ended up making Red Velvet Fauxstess Cupcakes. Okay, they aren't really faux, since they aren't vegan, they just aren't Hostess *out of the package* cupcakes. And I like saying fauxstess. I'm all about the cute right now. Not so much into the tailored, designer baked goods, I like the imperfections of handmade and since I am not making these to sell in a schmoosy bakery front, I am pretty happy with them.

Step one - fill the inside of the cake with squishy, delicious cream cheese frosting.
Step two - Top with a melty chocolate ganache
Step three - Let your boyfriend taste Test...
Step four - Swirly white icing and viola! Red Velvet Fauxstess!
I am chilling the cake and cupcakes right now but will take some photos and post them on my flickr, if you want to take a peek. I need to get ready to go to this party in the park and then the zoo! Oh, I love the zoo. I have the next 3 days off and am going to get started on completing my To-Do list. Wish me luck.
XO,
Bec

  1. I can never read enough posts about baking! keep going!
LOVE how the insides are filled with cream cheese!

I think I'd be more inclined to buy handmade "imperfect" baked goods from a bakery rather than schmoozie ones that are around. Reminds me of mama's cookin'. and who doesn't like mama's cookin?

You should totally start a bakery.
    I'd come visit it.

  2. I may, some day. I'm 25 years old, and I still have no idea what I want to do with myself.
