I know, I know, more baking, but getting ready for this little birthday party has been so much fun! I finished the cake and the cupcakes and we're heading over there in a few hours when Doug gets done working.
I ended up making Red Velvet Fauxstess Cupcakes. Okay, they aren't really faux, since they aren't vegan, they just aren't Hostess *out of the package* cupcakes. And I like saying fauxstess. I'm all about the cute right now. Not so much into the tailored, designer baked goods, I like the imperfections of handmade and since I am not making these to sell in a schmoosy bakery front, I am pretty happy with them.
Step one - fill the inside of the cake with squishy, delicious cream cheese frosting.
Step two - Top with a melty chocolate ganache
Step three - Let your boyfriend taste Test...
Step four - Swirly white icing and viola! Red Velvet Fauxstess!I am chilling the cake and cupcakes right now but will take some photos and post them on my flickr, if you want to take a peek. I need to get ready to go to this party in the park and then the zoo! Oh, I love the zoo. I have the next 3 days off and am going to get started on completing my To-Do list. Wish me luck.
