Yesterday, my friend Maggie hosted a little get together for my 27th birthday. I still don't know very many people in Chattanooga, but the few that I do know were there. We ate good food, lounged on the porch, the dudes played urban golf and Maggie made sure that I was stocked full of fancy cheese, blood orange soda and of course, a cake shaped like sunglasses. Maybe just the sweetest friend ever. (If you want to get to know Maggie more, visit her newly started blog, it's going to be really rad, just like her!)
My actual birthday, today, was such a perfect beautiful day. We slept in, went to brunch at Easy Bistro, saw The Campaign at the Majestic, got sorbet, walked down to the river, and came home to clean and organize. When I want to clean the house, I really WANT to clean the house, so it was a great thing to do today. We also got a new dining room table at an estate sale yesterday on the cheap, and I needed to make room for it! I also wanted to take some time to make a list. A list for me to come back to, to let resonate, to stick by. Little things, big things, and lots of in between things that I would like to see happen in my 27th year. I need to think about it a little bit longer before I share it, and I don't have time right now. Story of my life, no time to plan for the future until its too late. For now, it's leftover cake, Dexter season 5, and working until the sun comes up. Happy birthday to me.
(Isn't miss evabee the cutest?)
Have a good week! I hope I can make time to be in this space this week. I miss it when I am not.
