D U D E F O O D - Volume One

VOL1
It is exactly what you think it is, food for dudes. And for rad ladies too, but really, it's dude food. I am hoping to make a little series out of this, because you all know how much I love my dude and cooking for him and his skateboarder pals is one of my favorite things to do. Volume one is a few of my favorites. Check out the menu, and the recipes will follow.
THEMENU
loaded fries
These sweet potato fries are the perfect side with just about any mean. Lightly fried in extra virgin olive oil with bacon chunks and tossed with parmesan cheese and salt and pepper.
corn
Herb fried corn cobb isn't really fried, it's boiled until cooked and then sauteed in a hot pan with fresh dill and rosemary, some butter and salt. basic and classic.
brat goatcheese
Now for the super stars of this meal. The brat is started early, and cooked in beer and Carolina barbecue sauce for at least an hour. Add salt and pepper, and let it cook down. Add more beer, simmer on medium heat and add yellow pepper slivers. You will have the most amazing sauce ever once it cooks down. You can add more or less of each ingredient to taste. I also threw in some pickled southern peppers for kicks.

The brats sidekick is steamed asparagus, bundled and stuffed with wine soaked goat cheese, then wrapped in bacon and tossed on the grill. Heave does exists and it's on this plate. You can create a sauce with the remaining goat cheese and red wine as a topper. It's strong, so beware.

And there you have it. Dude food, volume one. Any suggestions for future volumes can be left in the comments and if you try it, link back to me, i would love to see how yours came out!

xo,
Beca

  1. Omigod, Beca! This is amazing. I'd like to add poutine with corn dogs cut up on it to your Dude Food menu. I mean, that's a crazy combo, but I've seen dudes who just love it!
